Mr Nanjuwa said the New Dawn Administration under President Hakainde Hichilema has emphasized the need to be efficient and effective in the delivery of services to the Zambian people.
He was speaking Monday afternoon when he met Provincial Heads of Government Departments at the Boma Conference Hall in Kabwe as part of the introduction following his appointment as Provincial Minister.
“We have a mammoth task, and expectations are high from the Zambian. Therefore, you need to read and internalize the manifesto of the ruling party and understand it to appreciate what the New Dawn Administration wants to achieve,” he said.
“I don’t expect politics but more of work. We need to procure (goods and services) at the right price and of good quality as well as seal the loopholes in the procurement system because that is what the President has directed.”
Mr Nanjuwa, who assured that he would run an open door policy, called for unity and discard any issues that might have divided the country during the elections.
He also announced that the Provincial Minister would be meeting provincial departments in the coming days to further familiarize on their operations.
During the meeting, Provincial Planning Unit Assistant Director Justin Kapenda, Provincial Education Officer Jennifer Banda and Provincial Health Director Dr Kennedy Kabuswe presented an overview on the operations of their respective departments.
